Casinos
Casinos and other forms of gambling that one may come across are popping up in almost every state in America. These days you cannot go anywhere without hearing of a new Indian Tribe that has an idea to open up a new place for people can enjoy gambling and wanting people to come and spend their money and need recognition in order to make it happen. After they get notice investors all over look to back these people up and before you know it is another well lit glamorous place for people to gamble twenty four hours a day. There are people all over the country that just can't wait to get paid just so they can cash their paycheck and go straight to gamble after work in hopes to double their paychecks or even when a substantial amount of money that could change their lives completely.
Of course one might figure the chances are winning are very low and the chances of you stopping once you have came up a few hundred are slim to none. Because of this, all of the local businesses are suffering to the point where they are now starting to file bankruptcy. Sooner than later, someone in political power will finally admit that the amount of cash taken in from taxes on gambling is significantly less than the hardship created with the economy. The majority of states take in millions of dollars from their numerous places that they have provided for gamblers, scratch tickets and lotto, but they don't want to deal with the negative impact on the local businesses. Everyone realizes there is a problem, but no one wants to face it.
People these days have absolutely no problem in spending hundreds and thousands of dollars at the Casinos but will quickly get angry when gas raises ten per gallon or their child needs more school supplies which we need to survive day to day life. One mother expressed she was very upset that the school system did not completely cover a field trip and that it would cost her $15.00 for each of her two children which is no price for her children to be happy and have fun with their classmates.. She called the school and complained.
This is the same person that had no problem the night before losing $1,300.00 at the local gambling spot. Unfortunately there is no logic to this situation. Sometimes you come across situations, where a person might steal sweet and low, butter and rolls from her local diner. But all the while this person had money in her wallet but that was reserved for a night out of gambling. In both of these situations the people sonly realized they knew they had a gambling problem only after they noticed their quality of life was changing drastically.
Nowadays everyone has come across someone who has and addiction to a local casino which accumulated to a gambling problem. They don't understand how this possibly has happened to a loved one, but they know something has to change quickly. The same situation can be compared when you find out your brother or sister is an alcoholic. You are unable to close down every bar and you can't bring back prohibition. You have to face it head on and look for alternatives to help your brother or sister to help them get through this hardship in their lives.
There has recently been an outbreak of people who are speaking out against this problem as the epidemic continues. A large amount of people don't even realize they have this addiction until all their resources run out. Gamblers tell their friends I won $2000.00 at the Casino on Saturday, but they neglect to tell them they lost $5000.00 and the week before. Furthermore, some people gamble for fun and others have full on addictions it is up to us to help the ones that need help and refer them to a place that provides professional help.
